STORIE DI SABBIA E CARBONE
Two women are waiting in a train station. One is an Italian woman from the years after the second word war, coming back from Belgium where she lost her husband in the mine of Marcinelle; the other one is a today's Senegalese woman, looking for her husband who disappeared during his travel towards Italy. Meeting each other, they give voice to the wives, mothers, daughters and all the characters of an intense and touching journey through real testimonies and worlds hanging over that Mediterranean sea, that's becoming more and more a big, blue cemetery. Frightening. Like the black abyss of a mine.
Tales, dance and aerial acts narrate the wrecks and hopes of a timeless story.
DOWNLOAD THE REFERENCE MATERIAL ABOUT THE SHOW:
“Nothing dispels prejudices better than meeting populations that have habits, laws and opinions that differ from our own; a difference that with little effort teaches us to drive back all the things in which people differ from one another and to consider everything in which they are alike as the voice of nature: the primary laws on nature are quite the same for all people. Do not offend anyone, give everyone what it's owed to.”
Albrecht von Haller, German naturalist and philosopher, 18th century.
SOGNO D'UN AMOR PERDUTO
A wordless monologue to dance the nostalgia
An evocative and poetic aerial act. A past times aerialist draws a ring from a little case and starts thinking of her past great love. It's a flying memory, a wordless monologue.
On the sound of De Andre's song Canzone dell'amor perduto, in its masterly version played by Klezroym, a dancing memory comes to life.
